Transition Handling

This section demonstrates the command-state handling of a phase configured with Exposed set to True and State_Transition_Handling parameter set to Auto Mode

When State_Transition_Handling is set to PLI , make sure the input parameters follow the sequence outlined in this section.

To sync state to command in PLI mode, see:

State_Transition_Handling parameter

Warning

State_Transition_Handling parameter values: PLI and Auto.

  • If State_Transition_Handling is set to PLI, the Batch Engine drives the Command, and the equipment PLC drives the State .
  • If State_Transition_Handling is set to Auto, the Batch Engine drives the Command and the Command drives the State.

The batch engine writes Start and Command_Number 1. The PLC sets State_Number to 2 (Running). The batch engine writes that same value to State_Number_Ack. The batch engine then sets Command to None and Command_Number to 0. When the PLC sets State_Number to 3 (Complete), the batch engine writes 3 to State_Number_Ack. The batch engine writes Reset and Command_Number 7. When the PLC sets State_Number to 1 (Idle), the batch engine writes 1 to State_Number_Ack.
