Process Cell Based on Recipe Size

For best results, throttle the Update Interval based on the size of your recipe. Access this setting in the Equipment Manager.  Add a Process Cell under an Area and then Edit the Process Cell. Update Interval is a setting in the edit Process Cell dialog.

Update Interval (milliseconds): Allows between 25 to 1000ms.

  • Large recipes have hundreds of steps and transitions. Operators advancing to the next manual step is in a time-frame of minutes or hours. For large recipes, use the longest interval. A setting of 1000 mSec. is better.
  • Medium recipes have medium number of steps and the execution is faster than with larger recipes. A setting between 100 and 250 mSec. is better.
  • Small recipes that progress through the steps very fast should have a setting of 25 mSec.

Keep this in mind when setting up your Production Equipment Model. You may want to have Process Cells defined by the recipe size.
