E-Signature

Sepasoft E-Signature provides certified approval or rejection using Ignition authentication. A signature template names the users, roles, security zones, or security rules that may complete a challenge.

Usernames, roles, and security rules can be added as predicates in the template expression. Security-rule predicates are available in MES 3.81.13 SP3 and MES 4.83.3 SP3. In Batch Procedure, use the e-Signature phase and components to track who did what and when. Tracking can be configured at the phase level down to machine commands. Set up an e-Signature template first. When using Batch Procedure, assign that template to an e-Signature phase by selecting the template in the phase edit configuration view.

  • Usernames, roles, security zones, identity providers, and security rules are configured in the Ignition Gateway.
  • The signature expression that uses them is configured on the MES signature template. See Expression syntax on the MES Signature Template Manager page.

Programmatic E-Signature Workflows

The system.mes.signature.authorization scripting functions provides the essential tools to programmatically manage and enforce electronic signature workflows within the MES. These functions are a critical component for ensuring process integrity, adhering to compliance standards, and automating user-level approvals. By leveraging this module, you can build robust, event-driven signature challenges directly into your industrial applications.
