Setting Up for Tracking and Tracing

This section includes the required steps to configuring the Track and Trace Module.

Step 1: Model the Material Flow

Visually laying out the material lots, classes, processes and touchpoints with other information systems is the first step in building a Track & Trace solution. Once this is done, you can rapidly build the production model, classes, definitions and process segments that you'll need.

Step 2: Model fixed equipment (lines and cells) and storage locations (storage zones and units).

Fixed Equipment and Storage Locations are configured in the Production Model in the Designer.

Step 3: Configure Fixed Equipment Lot Handling Modes

Define how material is stored at fixed equipment i.e. Blended, FIFO, Single lot etc.

Step 4: Create Equipment Classes

Step 5: Create Supplemental Equipment

Step 6: Create Material Classes and Definitions

Step 7: Create Personnel Classes and Definitions

Step 8: Create Operations, Process Segments and Routes
